Water

Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) is mandated to maintain adequate supplies of portable water to areas under its control in an economically viable way. In addition to providing sufficient water, it is also vital that this water is of good quality. Water is supplied to the urban centres of Gaborone, Francistown, Jwaneng, Lobatse Selibe Phikwe and Sowa Town, as well as peri-urban areas and villages through bulk supplies to the Department of Water Affairs.

Requirements for WUC water connection

  • Private individuals
    • Fill Form A fully
    • Identity Card Copy If (Botswana citizen)
    • Passport Copy
    • Letter of allocation if allocated by BHC
    • Lease Agreement/Title deed
    • Document on matrimonial Status (where applicable)
    • Sign agreement/contract for water supply

  • Companies/ Organisations
    • Fill Form A and append company stamp on every page
    • Certificate of incorporation
    • Lease Agreement/Title deed
    • Letter of allocation if allocated by BHC
    • Form 2

  • Requirements for WUC water Upgrade, Relocation, Replacement, and Meter test
    • Fill Form B

  • Requirements for WUC water termination
    • Fill form C

WUC provides water connection upon submission of application forms, title deeds or lease agreement to rent premises. Prior to installation, a deposit is paid according to the following schedule.

Commercial/Industrial Property deposits (all areas)

  • Minimum - P300
  • Maximum - Average of 3 months water consumption
