Location
Botswana is centrally located in the heart of Southern Africa. It shares borders with Zambia in the north, Namibia in the north and north-west, Zimbabwe in the north-east and South Africa in the south and south-east. Consequently, Botswana is a land locked country. But that has not crippled trade in this country.
Area
Botswana is roughly the size of France or Texas in the United States. The country surface area is 581 730 square kilometres. Botswana is 84% covered by Kgalagadi desert. The capital city is Gaborone, which is in the south-east near the border with South Africa.
